Edna Ip 葉雅鈿 was born in Hong Kong and had immigrated to Canada in 1968. She studied accounting and engaged in office work for many years before retiring.
In 1980 she began to develop an interest for painting. Edna learned basic painting of flowers and birds from Mr. Ko Chiu Chung and landscaping painting from Mr. Cheung Tek Man.
In 1985 Edna’s skills had broadened to paint peacocks and peonies from famous artist Mr. Ng Yee Sang and ” Double Depiction style ” of landscape painting from well-known artist Mr. Dickson Wu.
In 1999 & 2000, she staged charity solo exhibitions at Ontario Chinese Artists Association.
During 2010 to 2012 she had three solo exhibitions featuring a collection of peacocks, peonies, roses and waterfalls.
Edna was an art teacher at art associations and culture centres.
In 2001 she served as a treasurer with Ontario Chinese Artist Association.
During 2014 – 2017 served as a treasurer with The Chinese Art and Education Association of Canada.
She applied and accepted for Honorary President to celebrate her 30 years member anniversary with Ontario Chinese Artists Association.
